AI in GRC is most useful when it is placed inside a real workflow with clear inputs, constraints, review points, and decision rights. The valuable question is not 'Can AI do this?' but 'Which part of this GRC workflow needs reasoning, transformation, summarisation, critique, or retrieval?'
For example, Claude can help turn a messy audit walkthrough transcript into learning notes, pattern extraction, and explain-back prompts. That is useful because the practitioner already owns the work. It becomes unsafe when the model silently becomes the approver, assessor, or final authority.
Use In Teaching
Invoke this card when the learner wants to use Claude, Codex, agents, or LLMs for GRC work. It helps them separate learning loops, drafting support, evidence interpretation, and operational decisions.
Use it to teach boundary design around local AI usage. The learner can bring real terminal output, review notes, questionnaire drafts, or policy comments, but the Companion should convert those materials into reflection, critique, and learning artefacts. The practitioner remains responsible for operational judgement and final decisions.
A reviewer should check that AI GRC Workflows leaves the learner with one artefact to inspect, one assumption to test, and one behaviour to observe in their local context. That keeps the concept practical instead of turning it into vocabulary.
Contrast
This is not autonomous GRC. It pushes back against replacing programme ownership with generated output. AI can make a practitioner sharper, faster, and more reflective; it should not silently certify, approve, or operate controls.
